Private Instruction Program:
Chabot Gun Club offers private instruction in handgun, rifle and shotgun. Lessons are individually tailored to the needs of the student from the most basic procedures to more advanced skills.
HOWEVER!!! Before contacting us for private instruction, we strongly recommend that you look at our various classes. For most people, group lessons are a less intense and more enjoyable educational experience than one-on-one instruction.
Private lessons cannot be held on weekends at this time. Instructors are generally available on Wednesday and Thursday during the day only.
Civilians are welcome. Law enforcement and military personnel can benefit from our private instruction also.
Firearms are available if the student needs to borrow. To protect the instructor, all ammunition, both for loaned and owned firearms must be purchased from the range at the time of the lesson unless prior arrangements are made with the instructor.
Lessons generally cost $60 per hour for one person. The first lesson is usually four hours in length. Subsequent lessons are more flexible. Couples and group rates are available.
Your primary Instructor is John M. Maunder, who has been Chabot Gun Club's Rangemaster for 18 years. John has studied under some of the world's top firearms trainers from schools such as Gunsite, Marksman's Enterprises, Glock Inc. and Thunder Ranch. Some of his relevant credentials are:

Times available for instruction vary from week to week and are at the discretion of the instructor. Additional Instructors and coaches may be available as needed.
